About Gabilan Glass

Vito Lab, Prez

Vito LabVito is the primary designer of all our windows. His long-time obsession with architecture (both contemporary and historical) began after attending a lecture/forum featuring Frank Lloyd Wright in about 1955.

He began a career in writing and editing as an Army newspaper editor, while serving for two years in the Korean War. After six years of college, where he studied English literature, political science, and history, Vito spent 15 more years making a living by the written word. In the early 1970s, he became the director and part-owner of Ohmega Salvage — the last word in recycling, even of stained glass windows. For the past two decades, he has worked as a consultant, while dabbling in stained glass design, production, and sales.

Carol Dembling, CEO

Carol DemblingCarol Dembling is a friend and artistic director to the Prez, and her iron hand has had considerable influence on our designs and creations. She is a painter and collage artist who in recent years has had several shows of her work in Berkeley, California. During time spent in Istanbul, Jerusalem, Amsterdam and various cities in the U.S., she has researched stained glass designs for our windows. Her own work is influenced by yearly stays in Oaxaca, Mexico, where she rents a studio and studies with Mexican artist Humberto Batista.
